Signs Your AC System Needs a Plitnick Repair

  • System is Blowing Warm Air Instead of Cold
You can quickly tell if your system has a developing problem when you place your hand over a cooling register. If what you feel is warmer air, your system wastes electricity by trying to cool your home to your desired comfort temperature without results. There could be multiple reasons for this, but a Plitnick repair should be able to solve the issue.
  • AC Vents Put Out Weak Airflow
If the air coming from your AC vents is cool, but it's not blowing freely from your air registers, you could have one or more leaky air ducts, or you may have a clogged filter. The fix of this problem is cost-effective, which a significant repair is not.
  • Dramatic Temperature Swings Between Rooms
If you encounter temperature changes in one room but not another, it could be sun-induced, less insulation than you need, or non-airtight windows. An annual tune-up can solve this problem by having a tech look at your AC unit's inner workings to determine the cause.
  • Unusual Noises Coming from the AC System
If you've had your cooling system for years, you should be aware of its normal sounds when running. Should you hear strange sounds, such as hissing or banging, you may need a tune-up, as quickly as possible, to identify and fix the source of these new sounds.
  • Mold-Inducing Moisture or Odors
When this happens, it usually indicates your outdoor compressor may be leaking or having a blocked or broken drain tube. A knowledgeable tune-up will fix this issue before you need expensive system repairs or develop harmful mold spores.

Ductless Mini-Split Installation, Repair, and Maintenance

A ductless HVAC system is a type of air-conditioning and heating system that uses individual wall-mounted blowers to provide temperature control to individual rooms or areas. The ductless system works by circulating air through a line set connected to one or more indoor air handlers, opposed to ducts in the walls. The air then returns to the outdoor condensing unit, where the refrigerant is compressed and circulated back to the indoor units. This cycle of transferring heat from indoors to outdoors helps keep your home at an ideal temperature.

Signs Your Ductless Mini-Split May Need a Plitnick Repair

  • Not Producing Enough Hot or Cold Air
If your ductless system is no longer providing adequate heating or cooling, it could indicate an issue. Some causes could include refrigerant leaks, a malfunctioning compressor, or a faulty thermostat. All these problems can be addressed with a Plitnick expert to fix the issue and prevent future problems.
  • Water Leaks
Leaking around the indoor unit of your ductless unit could be a cause for concern. This type of problem could indicate a clogged drain, that may lead to damage to the system or water damage in your home. It is best to contact Plitnick to get it fixed right away.
  • High Electrical Bills
When problems arise with your ductless mini-split, your unit may have to work harder to get your home to a comfortable temperature. Increase in work for your unit can cause spikes in your energy costs.

Heat Pump System Installation, Repair, and Maintenance

Looking for a system capable of heating your home in the cold months as well as cooling during the summer heat? We install, repair, and maintain heat pumps for energy-efficient and environmentally friendly heating and cooling. From standard and ductless to geothermal heat pumps, we'll ensure your heat pump moves heat efficiently from one place to another.

Signs Your Heat Pump May Need a Plitnick Repair

  • Uncomfortable Home Temperatures
Cold air coming from your heat pump when you’re trying to heat your house? There could be a problem with the reversing valve, which switches the refrigerant line flow from heating to cooling. Reach out to Plitnick professionals to diagnose and assist.
  • Turning On and Off Too Frequently
Short-cycling of your heat pump may cause poor efficiency of your heat pump. Not completing a full heating or cooling cycle can lead to a shorter lifespan for your heat pump.
  • Odd Noises Coming from Heat Pump
Grinding, hissing, or gurgling noises may be signs that your heat pump is in need of repair. Get this issue diagnosed before the problem can get worse.
  • Weak Air Flow Through Vents
Low or no air coming from your vents is a sign of a pressure imbalance in your heat pump. This may also lead to whistling units coming through the vents. Weak airflow signals that your HVAC system is working but something is preventing your home from getting warmed or cooled. Contact Plitnick to fix this issue.

Energy Saving Tips for Summer

  • Keep Your House Warmer When You’re Away
Changing how you use your thermostat can cut down on energy costs during the summer months. When you’re not home, allow your AC to turn off and allow you home to warm up. When you get back, set the cooling temperature back to what’s comfortable. A programmable thermostat allows you to do this while allowing you to enter a home that’s already cooled down.
  • Get Regular Cooling System Maintenance
Issues with your cooling system may lead to your AC having to work extra hard to keep your home cool. Regular maintenance of your AC can help to ensure that your system is operating as smoothly as possible, causing the most efficient use of energy.
  • Prevent Hot Air From Getting In
If you’re using a cooling system, be sure to keep the warm air outside of your house. Things like open windows or cracks in doors allow cool air to escape and warm air to get in. This makes your AC pump out extra cold air to compensate, raising your energy bill.
  • Use Energy Efficient Lighting Systems
Different lighting sources have different impacts on your energy consumption. Using natural light during the day and eco-friendly light bulbs at night can keep your energy bill low.
  • Lower Hot Water Use
Water heating makes up about a fifth of the energy consumed in your home. Stay cool during the summer months by using cooler water. This is easy to do by turning down the thermostat on your water heater and getting regular maintenance on your water heater.
